2023 Quarterly Report 4

This quarterly report brings you reports on the ACP summer school, the CP conference, the CP awards, the CP competition results and the CP general assembly.

ACP.1: ACP Winter School 2024

March 25-29, 2024; Aussois, region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France. Located in the French Alps at the gateway of the Vanoise National Park.

The ACP Winter School 2024 will focus on applications of Constraints Programming. The school will provide an introduction to Constraint Programming and have a strong focus on applying Constraint Programming techniques. More specifically, on top of having technical lectures, the school will devote about 50% of the time to practical labs, where the participants learn to use Constraint Programming tools on practical problems.

We intend to invite the participants to solve a practical scheduling problem using Choco solver. Furthermore, we plan to use a platform named Caseine developed in Grenoble.

Program Comittee * Margaux Nattaf , Univ. Grenoble Alpes, CNRS, Grenoble INP, G-SCOP, France. * Arnaud Malapert, Université Côte d’Azur, CNRS, I3S, France. * Marie Pelleau, Université Côte d’Azur, CNRS, I3S, France.

Registration will open soon: https://school.a4cp.org/winter2024/

AAAI24 Bridge

Eugene Freuder and Barry O'Sullivan are organizing the AAAI-24 Constraint Programming and Machine Learning Bridge, part of the AAAI-24 Bridge Program.

The focus will be on bringing together the traditional AI fields of constraint-based reasoning and machine learning, but participants from related fields of reasoning, optimization and learning, e.g. SAT, operations research, data mining, will be welcome.

It is hoped that this one-day Bridge event will help establish an ongoing community, leading to workshops, special issues, etc.

The bridge has multiple tracks, including position paper, demo, pitch, grand challenge and more. More information: http://osullivan.ucc.ie/CPML2024/

ACP.3: CP 2023 videos

At CP, all authors were warmly encouraged to record their talk and send it in for collection the on the ACP Youtube Channel. Many video's are already present:

If you haven't yet, you can still send in your recording directly to ACP EC member Helene Verhaeghe.

ACP.2: CP 2024

The International Conference on Principles and Practice of Constraint Programming (CP) is the premier annual conference on all aspects of computing with constraints, including theory, algorithms, models, solvers, and a diverse range of applications in machine learning/artificial intelligence, planning, and scheduling, to name a few. This will be the 30th version of the CP series organized by the Association for Constraint Programming.

The CP 2024 program will include presentations of high quality scientific papers on constraints technology, featuring multiple thematic tracks. It will be located in the ancient city of Girona, Catalonia, at the premises of the old town campus of the University of Girona.

Program chair: Paul Shaw

Conference chairs: Mateu Villaret & Miquel Bofill

Location: Girona, Spain

Dates: September 2-6, 2024
